Pork Peanut Dragon Noodles
Ingredients:
- "1/2 cup" soy sauce (More can help)
- "1/2 cup" brown sugar
- "1/3 cup" chili garlic sauce
- Small amounts of garlic powder, ginger powder, MSG and rice vinegar
- 1lb ground pork
- 4 ramen packets (just the noodles)
- Crushed peanuts (as many as you want)
Recipe:
- Combine the brown sugar and sauces in a bowl.
- Add the powders, MSG and vinegar. Taste test continually until you land on your ideal.
- Fully cook the ground pork in a pan.
- Add the prepared sauce and the peanuts to the pork, and let it simmer around 5 minutes, or until it looks good.
- At the same time, cook the ramen noodles as it says on their packaging (usually around 3 minutes) and drain.
- Return the ramen to the pot and pour the pork mixture on top, mixing them together as best you can.
Notes:
This recipe is tasty but getting the ratios right can be difficult. You need enough of the chili garlic sauce for it to have the right taste, but too much can make it really spicy really fast. The smaller stuff like spices and rice vinegar help balance the flavor more in my opinion. I'm pretty liberal with the MSG but use only a tiny bit of vinegar, since it goes a long way. You can use egg noodles instead of the ramen if you want! My wife likes the ramen better but I think both are tasty.
