No One Knows My Plan is both really jaunty and energetic and also the lyrics are funnygood. Spy isn't uninteresting per se, but I'm not really into it and it lasts pretty long for something that I'm not really into.

Sleepwalkers isn't explicitly children's flavored and has a fun instrumental and melody line. I Am A Grocery Bag is like. Well OK I had to choose something I guess. It is a grocery list. It is 1 seconds long. Don't worry about it
The Else - 2007
When I first heard this album, I was still pretty fresh off the heels of only knowing pre-2000s albums, and was distracted by how comparatively normal the music in it was. Now, though, revisiting it is like, oh, this one is actually pretty weird, huh. It has some solid, straight-up bangers on it for sure, but in equal step a lot of pieces that you listen to and are just kind of like, huh! I don't know what that was!
That isn't a bad thing, of course, nor really uncommon, just a bit funny for me, specifically. This one tends to be overshadowed by others for me, but it's a good listen nonetheless. The songlist is a bit more hit-and-miss for me than others from this era that I like more, but when it's good it's GOOD good. Even if you aren't feeling the whole album, plucking the best ones to slap onto a playlist or something will do you wonders.

It's a really strong start to the album. The kind of reserved and unemotive vocal line combined with the rougher, louder backing has a fun sound. Feign Amnesia is a bit too monotone and repetitive for me.

I really like Cloisonné too, but The Lady And The Tiger's storyline is captivating and it has a fascinating sound. You Don't Like Me is similar to Feign Amnesia in that its repetitive and monotone style doesn't really do it for me.

Apophenia is punchy and fun to listen to, and the lyrics are fun. I thought it was about gaslighting at first but probably not. Lol? Anyways I'm still not big on repetitive songs without much variance. Bwa bwa

Communists Have The Music is obviously a standout but I really like Best Regrets' sound and sentimentality. The Bullies is an odd one. It's kind of scary. What's happening in there. What are they doing to me. Ahhh

Ana Ng is a classic with a punchy sound. I think the lyrics are interestingly sentimental for a song that feels kind of nonsense, fun to analyze. Santa's Beard is just kind of a bore compared to the rest of the album's energy.

Turn Around amuses me, and while the melody isn't that strong it does have a sound that's fun to follow along with. While I'm pro songs that are just rambled facts, Mammal doesn't sound good enough to capture me.
Mink Car - 2001

My Man has a great sound that manages to overpower that the subject matter slightly unsettles me. Bangs is probably an uncommon choice here but I think it's too lyrically weak for me to really get into it.

Wearing A Raincoat's melody is fun to follow and I'm a fan of TMBG songs where the lyrics just kind of blend into nonsense. Museum of Idiots feels too long for what it is... feels like I'm just waiting for it to end.

Good To Be Alive has a pleasant and fun sound and lyrics that are both sweet and also tongue-in-cheek. I appreciate the goal of End of the Rope as a really melodramatic song, but it just didn't come out that interesting to listen to.
